Curriculum Assistance Class Thursday, October 12, 2017 New quarter! It has been a great start to the school year. Students are doing well but I want to see them continue with the enthusiasm with which they started school. I am working of each student to become more independent as well as time management. So many wait until the night before to study for a test and they need to be studying each night if only to review the notes from that day's lesson. We are continuing our "smart goals" and will be reviewing our goals from first quarter and determine our progress.
Wednesday, September 20, 2017: Today we completed Journal #27. Essential Question: How can an agenda help me in my quest to being better organized? Students completed individual assignments and I had individual conferences to discuss progress in core classes.
Wednesday, September 13, 2017: Today we completed Journal # 22. We are continuing to work on our S.M.A.R.T. goals. Students will have a quiz on S.M.A.R.T. goals on Thursday, September 14th. Students worked on individual assignments and reviewed for upcoming tests.
Tuesday, September 5, 2017: Today we completed Journal #16. I met with each student to discuss current grades and weekly goals. Students determined if their bookbags/binders were organized and filed papers in appropriate notebooks. Students worked on individual assignments. Essential Question for today: Why is it important to be organized?
Wednesday, September 6, 2017 Today we completed Journal #17. We discussed "Steps to being Organized for School". Essential Question for today: Can these make a difference? Students worked on individual assignments.
Thursday, September 7, 2017 Today we completed Journal #18. We discussed Long Term and Short Term goals and the importance of each. We will begin developing Short Term and Long Term goals next week. Essential Question: Why do I need to have long term and short term goals? Students worked on individual assignments from other classes which had not been completed within the allotted time or work that needed to be made up as well as studying for upcoming tests.

Monday, September 11, 2017 Today we completed Journal #20. Most students had not been born when the 9/11 terrorist attack occurred but were able to write about what they had been told about it. Students developed their first S.M.A.R.T. goals for the week and this will be a weekly assignment. We will review our progress with our goals next Monday. We will have a test in C.A. on S.M.A.R.T. goals on Thursday, September 14th. Interims will be going out on Friday!
